2008 Introduction

...

This will be a fall 2008 intro.  It is well budded and branched and holds color in the hottest of Iowa summers. More about the 2008 intros when they are registered in the fall.

...

I knew this plant would be an intro the first year it bloomed. Huge bloom and a huge green throat. Out of '06 intro "Red Zeppelin" breeding. Will be an '08 fall registration.

...

This may be registered in the fall of '08 as I am undecided at this point on how many to register. The bloom is so beautiful with the red-magenta petals on the large warm yellow-gold throat. Truly remarkable in a clump form.

...

A tall, beautiful and striking fall 2008 intro. This one has NEWBOLD BETSY KATE (another 2008 intro) in it. The deep burgundy-red holds perfectly in the hot Iowa sun.

NEWBOLD BETSY KATE

I cannot seem to get a photo that captures the beauty of this one.  It is tall and holds its color perfectly in hot Iowa weather. A fall 2008 intro.

2008 Seedlings

seedling

...

Not just another yellow.  Out of my SIX LEGS A LEAPING, this seedling retains the bitter green throat, bud count and motion of SLAL.

seedling

...

Talk about a spotlight in the garden.  This seedling is out of my TO EVERY SEASON.

seedling

...

Another great seedling out of RED ZEPPELIN, yet taller. Holds the deep burgundy in the hot Iowa sun.

seedling

...

This guy just holds and holds this nice color. Though it is neither a spider nor an unusual form, it has great garden presence.

seedling

...

This hem will be registered in the fall as ALL THE BLONDES IN TEXAS. It’s a "gotcha"! While it is top budded it is remarkable when it blooms and quite a garden sight.

seedling

...

Not a large bloom but a beauty just the same. ROSEMARY WHITACRE provided the pollen for this unusual form. All blooms look this way.

seedling

...

Another ROSEMARY WHITACRE kid, this guy was sterling in the seedling bed as the sepals always had this wonderful twisting at the ends. Color was not too shabby either.

seedling

...

With OKLAHOMA KICKING BIRD and ROSEMARY WHITACRE in its background, this seedling has a lot going for it. Real eye candy.

seedling

...

Here we go! This is a seedling out of Ned Roberts’ TALON. What an interesting look. Every time it bloomed I stood and marveled.

seedling

...

You can see from this seedling that TALON gives up its dark color. Just look at those sepals! That's TALON genetics. Thanks Ned.

seedling

...

Wow! This guy caught my eye every time it bloomed in the seedling patch. A near white with PRETZEL LOGIC in its background.

seedling

...

Yet another ROSEMARY WHITACRE seedling with Rosemary sepals (always), great eye and bicolor accentuated with a lime green throat. This one is sure to be an intro on down the line.

seedling

...

I'll bet you thought ROSEMARY WHITACRE.  Actually this one got the coloration from my SIX LEGS A LEAPING.  Combine the movement of SLAL with the movement of JAN'S TWISTER (and a seedling) and you get this handsome dude.

seedling

...

This one has TRAHLYTA, MALACHITE PRISM and RED ZEPPELIN in its background. What a great face!

...

I made a peach seedling cross with JAN'S TWISTER and reaped five nice seedlings. This may be the one that I register in 2009. Then again, I may register all five.
