Kathy Larson : Fusion DayliliesFusion Daylilies... is the experimental garden of Kathy Larson and Jon McCord, located in the center of Iowa (zone 4). We are grateful for deep black soil and reliable rainfall -- and endure -20° winters and hot humid summer! Our hybridizing focuses on mixing old and new to produce daylilies that are winter-hardy, beautiful, and UNIQUE. Kathy's program includes off-beat hybrids from the 1960's and Don Lovell's Hemerocallis 'Peppermint Ice' to produce broken colors and unusual forms. Jon is using Hemerocallis 'Hakunensis' (superb bud count and vigor) with modern, round flowers. We are both following where the plant leads, always looking for new forms of beauty and having a lot of fun! Kathy Larson |
