2007 Spring Introduction

SCARLET PIMPERNEL

(Tet) 2007 N. Ripley (Ruby Spider x Royal Celebration) Unusual form. Glowing Royal Garnet Red combined with startling chartreuse green throat can put a WOW in your garden. This flower has strong saturated colors that dazzle a painter's eye. I love to paint watercolors and when I first laid eyes on Scarlet Pimpernel I immediately wanted to put the brilliant colors and flower movement on paper. Scarlet Pimpernel is often producing 4 petals and sepals. The flowers stand erect all day and do not fade, looking as fresh in the evening as early morning. When you add that Scarlet Pimpernel is fertile both ways it is a collector’s and hybridizer’s dream machine. Double fans $100.
